Society of Teachers of Law of Southern Africa. 21-24 January 2008. Good news for legal historians! A conference of the Society of Teachers of Law of Southern Africa will be held at the University of Pretoria from 21 to 24 January 2008 to celebrate the University s centenary. The theme of the Conference will be Harmonization of law within the African Union .
The Southern African Society of Legal Historians participates in this conference and will run daily parallel sessions: On Monday and Tuesday there will be five sessions; a workshop will take place on Wednesday; and the Annual General Meeting of the Legal Historians will be held on Thursday.
The Conference addresses a topical issue which is crucial for the economic development of the continent. The legal historical project deals with the prerequisites for harmonization and has attracted academics from other African countries. Participation and collaboration will advance legal science on the African continent, while the practical implications of this development are enormous.
This is a great opportunity to renew old contacts and make new friends!
All academics interested in legal history are warmly invited to join the Southern African Society of Legal Historians and to participate in this important conference. Members of the Society annually receive two volumes of Fundamina, an accredited journal which offers academics an opportunity to publish internationally.

disciplines. Possible topics include (but are not limited to): royal
